HBJ Award Ceremony for Most Admired CEO’s

Yesterday was the Award Ceremony for Houston’s Most Admired CEO honorees presented by the Houston Business Journal. A few of us at Westpark attended the event to help honor our CEO and President, Kathie Edwards.

To start, Kathie surprised us with a bus limo shuttle to the Hilton Americas in Downtown, Houston where the event was taking place.

Aside from taking group photos, it was also a great opportunity to network with local Houston businesses.

Here are some shots from the Hilton lobby where a few of Kathie’s friends joined as well as her mother and former CEO Edna (far right).

After socializing in the lobby, we were led to our tables where we enjoyed a fresh salad, chicken, fried macaroni & cheese, dessert and coffee.

Here was Westpark’s other reserved table. As you can see in this photo, we were teased with the dessert in front of us the whole time.

The Houston Business Journal started the event off by giving awards to recognize the accomplishments of CEO’s for nonprofits. That was really special because it highlights who is making a difference in our community. It raised awareness for nonprofits such as Houston Children’s Charity and Big Brothers Big Sisters Lone Star. Kathie has always encouraged employees to care for causes such as the Houston Food Bank or raise awareness for organizations such as The Rose.

CEO Award

We made sure to make a lot of noise when it was Kathie’s turn to accept the honoree award.

Here is video of the moment:

Well, we couldn’t get everyone behind the Houston Business Journal screen, but we did manage to make our last group photo work.

Thank you to Kathie for everything you do for the company. We’re honored to work for a Houston-based 2nd generation, woman-owned small business. We look forward to many more fun adventures!
